Lavendar Days

My first Blog entry... such an exciting venture. I thought I'd first share about last weekends Lavendar Days Festival in Mona, Utah. For years I've heard about Lavendar field festivals but never been able to attend. The moment we drove into the lavendar hued valley, I knew I would not be disappointed in any way, shape, or form. Highlights included a horse drawn carriage ride into the lavendar fields, picking our own lavendar bushels, and eating homemade lavendar ice cream. On a day as hot, smoky (thanks to the nearby wildfires), and dusty, one would think I would have been an onery cuss... but nope, I was in relaxation heaven.

To top it off, we sat and watch a jousting competition! Yeah, that's what I said. For the first time in my life, I watched real life jousting, and it was in Mona, Utah! Unfortunately, the "knight" I'd hoped to win and cheered on (purely chosen my favorite by his mere "hotness" and size) was robbed of a championship.

I went to Lavendar Days Festival with two of my favorite peeps. Bryn and Scully. I was worried Bryn would insist we turn around and go back home once she smelled the cows and horses, but the girl cowboy'd up and we had a hoot.

Next year I intend to bring nieces with me, as it turns out they "card" you at the entrance to the Fairy Lavendar Tea Party entrance. I almost go in, but couldn't pass for a 10 year old. I'm still not sure who has the right to determine at what age a gal stops being a "girl". I made sure to suggest less age-ism next year to the corporate people we randomly ran into.

I will for sure go back next year for the Fairy Tea Party and 5K Lavendar Fields Run. That t-shirt will be mine! A ramblin' gal has to have goals.

Lavender fest was a blast. We are going to have to go next year for the 5K and I am determined we will attend the ferry tea even if I have to borrow a child to get me in.
