HOLI Festival 2008~ Festival of Colors

I've heard about it, and always wanted to partake in it's festivities, but my schedule just never allowed me to do so, until Saturday...
I finally made it to the Holi Festival (Festival of Colors) hosted by our nearby Hare Krishna Temple neighbors (great hosts by the way!).
Picture this: a couple thousand humans all armed with bright, beautiful, brilliant bags of color standing on the lawn outside waiting for the effigy of Holica to be burned in the bonfire so that they can formally welcome in spring; which basically looks like the biggest colored flour fight you ever did see.

Until 2009! Y'all Come Back Now, Y'Hear!

Sweet!!! One of my Ohio-Utah friends & her fam went, too - what a neat event to participate in! And, of course, you look beautiful all covered in colors & dust! :-)
