Summer of the Heirloom Tomatoes

With great anticipation, I'd like to introduce you to my new little ones. As y'all know, I love my primary youngin's. One of them, with his older brother, has a little side business of growing and supplying the neighborhood with heirloom tomato seedlings. I adopted these 7 different varieties a week ago and brought them home to their new abode. A week later and they have already doubled in size... so exciting. Scully mocks me because she found me sitting on the patio talking story with them, but I really do think they like it. They love the attention, seeing as they are adopted and all. Attachment issues need to be dealt with at such a young age. Although it's quite a lot of work raising Sextuplets (+1) (what is 7 anyways??? I guess I could google it), I am about ready to increase my brood and bring on a new baby basil plant. Actually, I'm thinking a teen aged basil will be a better fit for our family, but I'm keeping it open.
More to come!

Do you realize how many tomatoes you are going to have with that many plants. Especially when you are caring for them as well as it sounds you are. You will have to come over and make salsa with me when all of our garden is mature.

i just got my first houseplant. I was very very excited about it. but after only one week it is not looking at well as i would hope. and i had such high hopes of keeping it alive! only time will tell... perhaps my long absences from home every day are damaging to its psyche...
